Industrial Musicals – quite simply an amazing (and surprisingly unknown genre of American musical history). Here are a few tastes for what all went on in the early later half of the 20th century in corporate entertainment… (the resonances with Speer’s theatrics, choreography and nation branding efforts are somewhat chilling) (also note that I really want to do a literal restaging of one of these productions – or perhaps a big ‘review’ style production – so if anyone wants to come on board…)
